The Congress party, a historic ally of the DMK, has announced its support for actor-politician Vijay's TVK to establish a government in Tamil Nadu, effectively ending its ties with the Dravidian leader.
According to AICC Tamil Nadu in-charge Girish Chodankar, this strategic shift comes after Vijay's formal request for Congress' backing, reflecting a clear mandate for a secular and progressive government as indicated by Tamil Nadu's electorate.
In a condition for its support, Congress insists that TVK exclude any communal forces that oppose India's constitutional principles. The Congress-TVK alliance is poised to renew the legacy of Tamil Nadu's iconic leaders while preparing for future electoral battles.
