Amidst political tensions, Rohit Pawar, an NCP MLA, has stirred controversy by alleging that senior party figures, including Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare, along with 22 MLAs, intend to run in the upcoming elections on BJP tickets.
The claims were swiftly countered by NCP spokesperson Anand Paranjpe, who assured that the party remains united under the leadership of Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister, Sunetra Pawar. He emphasized that Patel and Tatkare are esteemed members of the party and there's no internal dissent.
In a related development, Pawar met with Pune Rural's Superintendent of Police to address rising drug issues and safety concerns in Baramati, a region with strong political ties to the Pawar family. Ongoing problems include drug trafficking and threats to local traders.
