Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari has been charged for allegedly entering a restricted area of the Panna Tiger Reserve, according to forest officials on Wednesday.
Patwari, alongside Congress party workers, attempted to meet protesting villagers displaced by the Dodhan Dam project. Despite warnings, they reportedly forced entry, prompting legal action under the Wildlife Protection Act.
Speaking at a press conference, Patwari alleged corruption links between the construction firm and the ruling BJP, raising concerns about political patronage. The offence carries significant penalties, including imprisonment.
