Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has called on BRICS member nations to officially denounce what he termed as 'illegal expansionism and warmongering' by the US and Israel. Speaking at a two-day BRICS summit in India, Araghchi highlighted Iran's stance as a victim amid continuing tensions in West Asia.
Araghchi emphasized that despite the horrific violence and energy disruptions caused by the conflict, Iran remains steadfast in its fight for independence and dignity. He criticized the targeting of Iran by the US and Israel, asserting the country's resilience against external pressures.
The summit witnessed heated debates, notably between Araghchi and UAE's Minister Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, as BRICS nations struggled to reach consensus on the US-Israel conflict involving Iran. Efforts to form a unified BRICS stance were further complicated by differing views within the bloc.
