Amid rising tensions, Ukrainian drone attacks have claimed one life and injured three others in Russia's Belgorod border region. The attacks, confirmed by the region's General Headquarters via Telegram, have put the spotlight on ongoing cross-border hostilities.
The first attack saw a drone targeting a private residence in the town of Graivoron, resulting in the death of a man and injuries to another. The second incident took place in a nearby village, where two more individuals suffered injuries from a drone detonation.
Signaling potential strategic shifts, President Vladimir Putin has responded by appointing Alexander Shuvaev, a highly decorated veteran, as the acting governor of Belgorod region after the resignation of two regional officials.
