BJP's Bold Call: A Liquor-Free Jammu and Kashmir

The BJP staged a protest in Jammu and Kashmir, rallying for a total ban on liquor in the Union territory. The demonstration, which took place near Ram Munshi Bagh Park, saw party leaders and workers clashing with police as they attempted to reach Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's residence.

On Friday, BJP leaders and workers gathered near Ram Munshi Bagh Park in Jammu and Kashmir to demand a total ban on liquor in the Union territory. The protest aimed at Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's residence at Gupkar faced resistance from the local police.

The march was halted as police intervened and temporarily detained several party leaders who attempted to lead the rally to Abdullah's home, according to officials. The protestors raising slogans against liquor sales were stopped before reaching their destination.

Despite the detentions, the situation remained calm. Police managed to disperse the BJP workers peacefully without any reported incidents of violence.
