In a display of unity, V D Satheesan, recently announced as Kerala's Chief Minister-designate, made a significant visit to the residence of senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala on Friday.

Even though both politicians were contenders for the chief minister's position, the All India Congress Committee's decision favored Satheesan. Following the announcement, Chennithala had temporarily left his Thiruvananthapuram residence but returned to the state capital to meet with Satheesan.

The meeting, originally slated for 11 am, was postponed as Chennithala was engaged with other party leaders. Eventually, Satheesan, after meeting former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, engaged in a cordial discussion with Chennithala, joined by Congress figures Anwar Sadath, Abin Varkey, V T Balram, and Joseph Vazhackan.
