Kerala's New Cabinet: A Blend of Fresh Faces and Experienced Leaders

Kerala's government is set for a fresh chapter as Chief Minister-designate V D Satheesan unveiled a 20-member cabinet, a strategic blend of seasoned politicians and 14 new faces. The lineup includes two women ministers and two from the Scheduled Caste community, pointing towards a diverse and inclusive administration.

Spearheaded by the Congress, the UDF cabinet integrates members from key allies such as the IUML. Experience is further represented by veterans like Ramesh Chennithala and K Muraleedharan, alongside fresh political talents. The slate of appointees highlights a commitment to regional and social balance.

Ahead of the swearing-in, Satheesan addressed the media, explaining that cabinet selections accounted for social dynamics and regional representation. Regarding excluded candidates, he emphasized factors like the Congress's significant victory with 63 seats, which limited inclusions in the 20-member cabinet. Despite these challenges, the party aims to fulfill its promises, reflecting the people's aspirations for effective governance.
