Arvind Kejriwal, the head of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has come forward to defend Deepak Singla following his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering investigation. Kejriwal claims that Singla's arrest was politically motivated due to his refusal to join the BJP.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) countered, pointing to previous instances of financial wrongdoing within AAP leadership, and demanded accountability from Kejriwal. Deepak Singla, AAP's co-incharge for Goa, confronts allegations linked to a bank loan fraud uncovered during raids in Delhi and Goa.
The controversy extends beyond Singla, with Punjab minister Sanjeev Arora also facing charges in a significant GST fraud case. AAP markets these actions as attempts to undermine their political movement, while BJP alleges them as exposing deeper corruption within AAP ranks.
