The Lok Sabha Secretariat's PRIDE institute has trained more than 100 Andhra Pradesh Legislature officials and staff in parliamentary procedures, committee systems and legislative administration during a three-day capacity building programme in Amaravati.

The programme, held from May 19 to 21 at the Legislature Complex, was organised by the Parliamentary Research and Training Institute for Democracies (PRIDE) in collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh Legislature Secretariat, an official statement said.

The programme was organised under the vision and guidance of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.

Andhra Pradesh Legislature Secretary-General Prasanna Kumar Suryadevara, inaugurating the programme, stressed the importance of continuous professional development and said targeted training for newly recruited officials was essential to adopt best legislative practices.

PRIDE Director P K Mallick said the institute has been assisting state legislative secretariats across the country through structured institutional training programmes since 1976.

Senior officers of the Lok Sabha Secretariat conducted technical sessions on legislative processes, parliamentary questions, parliamentary privileges, departmentally related standing committees (DRSCs), financial committees, media relations, public engagement, official noting and drafting, the statement said.
