An organisation engaged in research on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on Saturday demanded the formation of an international commission by the Centre to investigate his disappearance and ascertain the truth behind his fate.
Subhas Bose Research Centre member Bittu Roy Chowdhury said post-Second World War classified documents are being declassified by several countries, and urged the government to make use of such material for further inquiry.
''The West Bengal government should form an expert committee to collect all such declassified documents and set up a digital archive here,'' he told reporters here.
He also demanded that a national holiday be declared on Netaji's birth anniversary and that the day be named 'Deshprem Divas' (patriotism day).
The organisation also demanded that Netaji's political philosophy and nationalist ideology be included in Calcutta University's curriculum and that a 'Chair' in his name be set up at the institute.
