Assam's Ambitious Path: Jobs, Peace, and Prosperity Under CM Sarma

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday reaffirmed his administration's dedication to creating 2 lakh government jobs while reclaiming encroached land for further development. During his address responding to the Governor's Motion of Thanks in the state legislative assembly, Sarma emphasized, 'Our vision is to foster a generation capable of initiating job opportunities within a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem.'
The Chief Minister also underscored his government’s commitment to reclaiming encroached char areas and forest lands to serve the state's developmental interests. Alongside, the government has proposed 'The Uniform Civil Code, Assam, Bill, 2026,' aimed at ensuring justice and equality for all citizens. Highlighting socioeconomic advancements, Sarma stated, 'Assam's Maternal Mortality Ratio has impressively fallen from 480 to 84 per lakh between 2006 to 2026, surpassing the national average.'
Sarma pointed out that Assam's economic trajectory showcased a robust growth with the GSDP expected to reach Rs 8.71 lakh crore this year. In demonstrating communal unity, he acknowledged Eidgah committees' cooperation on Eid Al Adha to uphold communal harmony. He concluded, 'Our industrial vision includes advancing medical, engineering, and higher education infrastructure, fortifying a violence-free and prosperous Assam.'
