Education Minister Pushes for CBSE Payment System Overhaul with Major Banks

Union Minister for Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, convened a meeting on Tuesday with senior representatives from four key public sector banks, namely State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, and Indian Bank, to deliberate on upgrading the Central Board of Secondary Education's (CBSE) Payment Gateway System.
The Minister stressed the importance of creating a robust and student-friendly payment ecosystem, focusing on post-examination services such as re-evaluation and obtaining answer sheet photocopies. He instructed the banks to implement strong payment protocols that ensure timely transactions and quick resolution of payment-related issues, including automatic refunds for excess or failed payments.
The banks committed to collaborating with CBSE to enhance the payment infrastructure through advanced technical protections, real-time monitoring, and improving grievance redressal mechanisms. They pledged support for the initiative, prioritizing a seamless and secure digital transaction process for students.
