Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, a Trinamool Congress MP, has formally complained to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla regarding verbal abuse and misogynistic actions by fellow party member Kalyan Banerjee. The alleged incidents occurred during parliamentary sessions.
This complaint emerges as internal strife intensifies within the TMC after recent electoral setbacks. Ghosh Dastidar has previously criticized party leadership on issues like alleged corruption and the influence of I-PAC. Her resignation from party roles followed her attendance at an administrative meeting contrary to party directives. The TMC leadership has yet to respond to these allegations officially.
The party faces increased scrutiny as dissent among its ranks becomes more public, with other leaders like Mahua Moitra and Kirti Azad also involved in past disputes.
