The Communist Party of India (CPI) General Secretary, D Raja, has urged close observation of Karnataka's political arena following the recent cabinet reshuffle. This shift comes after an extended leadership rivalry between senior Congress leaders Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar, which was finally resolved through Congress intervention.

Raja noted, 'The protracted tussle between Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah necessitated Congress intervention.' As a result, Siddaramaiah has tendered his resignation, passing the baton to Shivakumar. The political dynamics and government performance under Shivakumar's leadership warrant close scrutiny in the days to come.

Raja's comments arrived in the midst of Siddaramaiah stepping down, having submitted his resignation to the Governor's Special Secretary at Lok Bhavan. Emphasizing his voluntary decision, Siddaramaiah assured there was no external pressure influencing his resignation.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar is set for consultations with Congress heavyweights Rahul Gandhi and party president Mallikarjun Kharge regarding the state cabinet and wider organizational issues. Sources indicate forthcoming cabinet restructuring discussions, entailing Rajya Sabha nominations and MLC elections as focal points.

Notably, insiders suggest several current Siddaramaiah ministry members might be excluded from the impending Shivakumar-led administration. Furthermore, Congress is contemplating the appointment of four Deputy Chief Ministers to uphold social and regional equilibrium. Siddaramaiah's political legacy persists, with speculations that his son, Yathindra, may join the new Cabinet. Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has accepted the resignation, dissolving the current Council of Ministers.
