The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) successfully adopted a hybrid format for its annual Mahanadu conclave, integrating physical meetings with digital connectivity across Andhra Pradesh. This approach was intended to engage party cadres more effectively, accommodating over seven lakh participants through innovative technological means.
Spanning two days, the event included discussions on organizational strategies, technology use, and future political plans. A significant announcement was made regarding the proposal of 33 percent reservation for women in the party, reflecting the year’s 'Stree Shakti' theme. This hybrid model, developed under the guidance of Nara Lokesh, emphasized reducing travel costs and allowed for participation from rural areas through 1,875 digital cluster centers equipped with essential streaming infrastructures.
An intricate GPS-enabled digital invitation system and a central command center managed registrations and facilitated real-time communications between the command hub and local centers, ensuring smooth operations. Participants accessed the event via the MyTDP app, which provided live-streaming, authenticated attendance, and an interactive feedback system, showcasing a potential blueprint for future political engagements.
