Russia is preparing to respond promptly to Romania's decision to shut down its consulate in Constanta, according to a report from the state-run TASS news agency. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova indicated that measures by Moscow will be forthcoming.

On Friday, Romanian President Nicusor Dan declared the closure of the Russian consulate in the southeastern city of Constanta, alongside the expulsion of the Russian consul. This diplomatic development followed a significant incident involving a Russian drone.

The drone reportedly crashed onto the roof of a residential building, resulting in an explosion. The situation has escalated tensions between Romania and Russia, highlighting the fragile nature of their diplomatic relations.
