The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)'s noteworthy victory in Punjab's municipal elections has been hailed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann as a strong vote of confidence in the party's developmental policies. Mann described the election results as a rejection of opposition parties' negative campaigns.

Mann emphasized AAP's sweeping wins in regions like Dhuri, where the party secured 19 of 21 seats, and the substantial overall victories across Punjab. With over 950 of the 1,977 wards claimed by AAP, Mann suggested the electorate's support strengthens the party's prospects for the 2027 assembly elections.

The chief minister also criticized the BJP, labeling it the 'ED Party', for failing to make significant inroads despite their traditional strength in urban areas. Notably, the BJP's campaign resulted in a disappointing fifth place, trailing behind even independent candidates in some instances.

Mann urged the opposition, including Congress and Akali Dal, to accept the results gracefully, remarking on their inability to present candidates in certain areas. He concluded by reflecting on the broad support for AAP's initiatives, such as free electricity and educational improvements, as a catalyst for the people's endorsement.
