Punjab Congress organized statewide demonstrations on Saturday, voicing strong opposition to the central government's increase in fuel prices, which they claim has significantly impacted ordinary citizens. Using bullock carts and bicycles in various cities, protesters highlighted their disapproval of the ongoing hikes in petrol and diesel costs.

Protesters displayed placards reading 'Rollback fuel price hikes' as they called attention to the financial strain these increases place on citizens. Former minister Sunder Sham Arora led a significant protest in Hoshiarpur, where participants gathered near Dr B R Ambedkar Chowk and marched through the city to Shimla Pahari Chowk, calling for relief.

Addressing the crowd, Arora criticized the government's policies for escalating inflation and burdening the public. He demanded an immediate rollback of the fuel price hikes to alleviate pressure on society. Elsewhere, Kuldeep Singh Vaid led a bullock cart protest in Ludhiana, condemning the government's contradictory approach to improving living standards amid soaring fuel and gas prices.

The Punjab Congress vowed to continue advocating for public rights, insisting that the rising costs are unsustainable and contradictory to the current administration's claims of economic upliftment for the poor and middle class.
