In a significant initiative, Karnataka's newly sworn-in government under Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has introduced free bus passes for school and college students statewide. This move, as announced by Minister Eshwar Khandre, seeks to relieve families financially and encourage educational pursuits.
Addressing the press, Khandre highlighted how the abolishment of bus pass fees could increase school enrollment and motivate attendance, particularly benefiting economically disadvantaged families. The government is determined to implement its electoral pledges aggressively, with Shivakumar taking charge as the 34th Chief Minister.
Additionally, the state seeks to tackle unemployment by filling over 56,000 vacant positions through a transparent recruitment process and collaborating with private sectors. Khandre emphasized the importance of adapting to technological advancements in the job market while promoting effective governance.
