In a significant escalation of tensions in the Gulf region, U.S. forces successfully intercepted several Iranian ballistic missiles and drones aimed at the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf, Central Command reported on Friday.
Following this interception, the U.S. military responded by targeting Iranian coastal surveillance radar installations in Goruk and Qeshm Island, underscoring their commitment to thwart future maritime threats.
Initial assessments revealed that out of the seven ballistic missiles launched by Iran, six were intercepted while the seventh failed to hit its intended target, thereby neutralizing the immediate threat to regional maritime traffic.
