West Bengal's political sphere is abuzz with speculation as the Trinamool Congress (TMC) grapples with the potential for internal disarray. On Saturday, West Bengal Minister Dilip Ghosh openly questioned the party's unity in the Lok Sabha, amid growing tensions and a possible split within the ranks.
Ghosh's comments come on the heels of a faction of rebel TMC MLAs, including expelled leaders like Ritabrata Banerjee, who claim to have the support of 58 assembly members. This group opposes the selection of Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay as Leader of the Opposition, further stoking the political fires.
Amid this turmoil, Ghosh emphasized the governance agenda of the current state government, highlighting planned visits by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Central Ministers. Meanwhile, TMC has unveiled a revamped leadership lineup, with Derek O'Brien, Dola Sen, and several others taking on pivotal roles to steer the party through these turbulent times.
