As the deadline for Rajya Sabha election nominations nears on June 8, the Karnataka Congress is strategically biding its time, as revealed by Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President BK Hariprasad. The party's tactical 'wait and watch' approach is in response to the opposition's forthcoming moves.
Hariprasad clarified, 'The 8th is the last day, so we will wait and see how many candidates the BJP fields. We have already filed four, with one more on Monday.' On Thursday, Congress unveiled its list of seven candidates, including Mallikarjun Kharge for Karnataka, for the June 18 elections.
Meanwhile, the BJP released its list of 11 candidates for the Rajya Sabha polls across several states. Among them are nominees from Arunachal Pradesh to Rajasthan. The Central Election Committee finalized candidates as preparations for the Upper House elections intensify, ahead of the Election Commission's June 3 notification outlining these elections.
