JMM Criticizes BJP for Supporting Businessman in Rajya Sabha Elections
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader Manoj Pandey criticized the BJP for endorsing independent candidate Parimal Nathwani in the Rajya Sabha elections, arguing it demonstrates BJP's inability to source a candidate internally. Nathwani, an industrialist, is one of three vying for two seats in Jharkhand despite BJP's backing.

The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader, Manoj Pandey, has criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for their decision to back Parimal Nathwani, an independent candidate, for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in Jharkhand. Pandey claims this move highlights the BJP's failure to find a suitable candidate from within its own ranks.
Pandey argues that the BJP has not merely supported an independent candidate but has aligned with a capitalist, suggesting that the party's inability to field its own nominee reveals a significant shortcoming. On Monday, Nathwani, who is also an industrialist, submitted his nomination papers, pledging to seek votes based on his work in the state.
The BJP’s backing makes the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in Jharkhand notably competitive, with three candidates vying for two seats. The JMM and its ally Congress have each fielded their candidates, while BJP requires additional votes to secure its supported candidate's win. With nominations due by June 8, the elections are set for June 18.
