The Trinamool Congress (TMC) is facing a significant political upheaval as 19 of its MPs have reportedly submitted their names to the Lok Sabha Speaker's Office, indicating a possible rebellion within the party. Among those named are senior leaders Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar and Satabdi Roy, as well as Bapi Haldar and Dr. Sharmila Sarkar.
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Commerce, led by TMC MP Dola Sen, visited Raipur on Friday to engage in discussions about trade, exports, and sector-specific issues. The committee's visit comes at a time of growing tensions within TMC, raising questions about the future direction of the party amidst a wave of resignations.
During the committee's visit, members including BJP MP Santosh Pandey, Congress MP Renuka Chowdhury, and others deliberated on India's trade performance and relations. Highlighting developmental potential, Chowdhury spoke about organic farming in Chhattisgarh, while BJP MP Rahul Sinha expressed concerns about the steel sector during a visit to the Bhilai Steel Plant.
