In a call for unity, Congress leader Nana Patole urged political parties nationwide to join forces with the Congress, highlighting perceived threats to constitutional institutions under the BJP-led central government.
Patole emphasized the urgency of opposition unity, citing leaders like Mamata Banerjee and Sharad Pawar who recognize the necessity of aligning with Congress to safeguard the country. He affirmed that this process of alliance-building is underway.
Conversely, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal refuted merger rumors between Congress and Trinamool Congress, labeling such claims as baseless. He clarified that recent high-level meetings were routine discussions aimed at reinforcing opposition efforts against what he termed an anti-democratic government.
