NATO allies will need a roadmap for taking on more responsibility for Europe's defence from the United States as Washington reduces its contributions, German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius said on Thursday.
"It's about a roadmap, it's about a synchronized way of doing it. The most relevant challenge is to avoid dangerous capability gaps caused by withdrawing something and not being able to substitute ," Pistorius said at a press conference at NATO's headquarters in Brussels.
"We know that we have to do more for our conventional deterrence and defence. But it takes some time."
