Sudan: Omar al-Bashir welcomes University of Khartoum’s initiative to resolve political crisis

The President of Sudan, Omar al-Bashir has welcomed the initiative of the University of Khartoum to resolve the nation’s political crisis.
Omar al-Bashir is said to have received a delegation of professors representing University of Khartoum’s Dialogue and Policy Forum in his office at the Republican Palace. The Head of State also extolled the role during the meeting that University of Khartoum has continued to play regarding the national issues.
For his part, the chairman of the Dialogue and Policy Forum, Abdel-Malik Mohamed Abdel-Rahman, said the forum seeks to develop solutions for the problems facing the country. He expressed the University of Khartoum’s readiness to provide a vision to achieve political and economic stability in the country as part of its national responsibility, as reported by Sudan Tribune.
The government also declared that 31 people have died in the violence, while other credible reports including from Human Rights Watch says at least 51 people have been killed.
