BJP's Suresh Kashyap bags Shimla Shimla, May 23 (PTI) Suresh Kashy'

BJP candidate Suresh Kumar Kashyap Thursday won the Shimla Lok Sabha seat with a margin of 3,27,515 votes against his nearest rival Col Dhani Ram Shandil of the Congress, state election officials said. In 2014, Virender Kashyap of the BJP had won by defeating Mohan Lal Brakata of the Congress by 84,198 votes. The BJP had dropped him and fielded Pachhad MLA Suresh Kashyap.

Kashyap polled 6,06,183 votes, grabbing 66.35 per cent of the vote share against 3,78,668 votes of Shandil with 30.5 per cent vote share.
