German appointee to lead EU executive due in Brussels Wednesday

Ursula von der Leyen, appointed by EU leaders as the next head of the bloc's executive, will travel to the bloc's political hub on Thursday, an official said.
A spokeswoman for the European Commission said von der Leyen would meet the outgoing head of the executive, Jean-Claude Juncker, at 0830 GMT.
At 1230 GMT, she will meet European Council President Donald Tusk, according to his schedule published online.
