The festival of Shrikrishna Janmashtami is being celebrated on Sunday with reverence and glee. In addition to homes, temples, in the police lines, the glorious flags of Yashoda's red flashes and cultural shades are scattered.

People have painted the sculpture of Radha's Shyam. Janmashtami is celebrated not only in India but also with great fanfare in the whole world. Lord Krishna was born in the month of Ashtami. This time Janmashtami will be celebrated tomorrow as well as today.

On the holy occasion of Shrikrishna Janmashtami, devotees from far and wide reach Mathura to see the enchanting image of Lord Kanha. Men and women keep fast till twelve o'clock. The night of Shrikrishna-Janmashtami has been called Moh Ratri. 

By chanting the name or mantra of Lord Krishna, frees us from attachments of the world.
