Indian Cinema contributes for flood-stricken Kerala

Mohanlal and Mamoothy donated a sum of Rs 25 lakh each towards the CMDRF while the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) have donated a sum of Rs 50 lakh to the fund as reported.

The worst ever floods hit the state of Kerela this month and Indian celebrities are urging people of the country across social media to contribute in whatever ways they can to help the people of the state.

The Malayali actors have contributed with money to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund and one actor even opened the doors of his house to the people.

Mohanlal and Mamoothy donated a sum of Rs 25 lakh each towards the CMDRF while the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) have donated a sum of Rs 50 lakh to the fund as reported.

Actor Siddharth too contributed Rs 10 lakh along with a sincere prayer to the people of the nation to come forward and help with whatever they can. He started an open challenge as an innovative technique to attract people over Twitter to donate and post the proofs of the transaction.

Another actor Tovin Thomas opened the doors of his house to shelter whoever comes for relief from the rising waters. He also pledged to provide for all the basic amenities to the best of his capacities.

Kamal Hassan, Vijay Senthupathi, and Suriya-Karthi handed over Rs 25 lakh each to the Chief Minister while Dhanush gave Rs 15 lakh; Vishal and Shivakarthikeyan contributed Rs 10 lakh each.

Telegu actor Allu Arjun couldn't hold back his grief and wrote an emotional post in Twitter stating his pledge to donate Rs 25 lakh to the people of Kerela.

Bollywood actors such as Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Varun Dhawan, Vicky Kaushal, Shraddha Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Madhuri Dixit and many more pitched their voices on Twitter in support of the people in Kerela and contributed their bit towards the unfortunate natural disaster.
