The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has turned a neglected piece of wasteland in Maligaon's BG Colony, Guwahati, into the Sirisha Rail Udyan, a newly constructed park, according to official statements.
This area, which suffered from water-logging and was a garbage dumping site, has been converted into a space for leisure, with facilities such as walking and running tracks, a lawn area, and an open gym, it said.
'The park's walls are painted with educational murals about Assam's natural and cultural history, and solar LED lamps have been installed. The park also features a beautiful pond with two water fountains,' the statement added.
