Thunderstorms and Gusty Winds Forecasted for Andhra Pradesh Regions

The India Meteorological Department predicts thunderstorms with lightning in parts of Andhra Pradesh from June 8 to 12. Areas including North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema can expect gusty winds up to 40 km/h. The Southwest Monsoon has advanced into various regions, with further progression expected.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast warning of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning for several parts of Andhra Pradesh, effective from June 8 to June 12.

This alert covers areas such as North Coastal Andhra Pradesh (NCAP), Yanam, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh (SCAP), and Rayalaseema. These regions are also expected to experience gusty winds reaching speeds up to 40 kilometers per hour.

According to a press release, the Southwest Monsoon has made significant advances into parts of the central Arabian Sea, south Maharashtra, Telangana, and coastal Andhra Pradesh. Current conditions suggest the monsoon will continue progressing over the next few days.

Meanwhile, the cyclonic circulation over south Telangana has lessened, though lower tropospheric southerly and south-westerly winds remain active over Andhra Pradesh and Yanam.
