Noida High-Rise Fire: AC Short Circuit Sparks Safety Concerns

A fire erupted in a high-rise apartment in Noida, triggered by a short circuit in an air conditioner on Saturday night, officials confirmed.

The incident, which took place around 8:45 PM on the 11th floor of Supertech Capetown Society, resulted in no casualties, according to local authorities.

Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar Choubey reported that the society's fire safety mechanisms and personnel managed to extinguish the fire before the arrival of fire tenders, thus averting a major mishap.

In light of frequent fire incidents caused by electrical short circuits or AC malfunctions, Noida Police has issued an advisory for the public, emphasizing the importance of regular fire and electrical audits. Regularly switching off and servicing air conditioners can prevent such risks, the advisory stated.
