Tragic End: Leopard Cub Found Mutilated in Katarniaghat

The body of a 10-month-old male leopard cub was discovered early Sunday morning in a village within the Katarniaghat Wildlife Division in Bahraich district, officials confirmed.

Initial assessments by the forest department indicate that the cub, weighing around 14-15 kg, likely perished in a nocturnal conflict with other animals.

Divisional Forest Officer B Shiv Shankar revealed that a team of forest officials and workers arrived at the scene in Banghusari village, Motipur forest range, promptly after receiving the report. The precise cause of death will be ascertained following a post-mortem examination by a panel of veterinarians.
