Blaze Erupts in Temporary Worker Cabin, No Casualties Reported

A fire broke out in a temporary cabin on Ghodbunder Road, Thane West, on Monday evening. The fire, triggered by a short circuit, intensified following a gas cylinder explosion. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, and the blaze was extinguished within an hour, though it damaged property.

A fire erupted in a temporary cabin housing construction workers on Ghodbunder Road in Thane West on Monday, according to a civic official.

Commencing at 6:12pm, the blaze originated in a ground-plus-one cabin at a stone trading unit. The fire, which was initially triggered by a short circuit, got exacerbated when a gas cylinder within the cabin exploded. The Thane Municipal Corporation's disaster management cell chief, Yasin Tadvi, confirmed this information.

The Ovala fire brigade managed to douse the flames by 7:10pm. While there were no injuries reported, the fire gutted the cabin and the belongings of 11 individuals residing there.
