In a tragic turn of events, rescue teams on Monday morning recovered the body of one of the two missing children swept away by gushing waters at a waterfall near Bhushi Dam in Pune's Lonavala area. According to officials, the search is ongoing for the remaining missing child.

The incident unfolded on Sunday when a family from Sayyad Nagar in Pune's Hadapsar area, who had gathered for a picnic near the scenic Bhushi Dam, was caught unawares by the rising waters. The bodies of a 36-year-old woman and two minor girls were recovered that day.

Despite warnings from local authorities, the Bhushi and Pavana dam areas saw an influx of more than 50,000 visitors on Sunday. The tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the perils associated with monsoon season outings to such destinations.
