Severe flooding has struck Manipur's Imphal West and Imphal East districts following incessant rainfall. Major rivers, including Imphal, Kongba, and Iril, have breached their embankments, authorities confirmed on Wednesday.

Consequently, the state government announced a holiday for all government offices, and schools will remain closed until Thursday. In response, relief and rescue operations are in full swing to aid the affected populace.

Among the devastated areas, a significant 3-km stretch of the India-Myanmar road is submerged, impacting over a thousand residents. Local authorities, alongside the Indian Red Cross Society, are engaged in rescue efforts amid the ongoing crisis.
