Delhi's irrigation and flood control minister, Saurabh Bharadwaj, conducted an inspection of the recently renovated regulator of drain number 12, situated near the World Health Organization (WHO) building in ITO. This regulator, which had been damaged during last year's Yamuna floods, has been comprehensively restored.

'Regulator number 12, which was broken during the Yamuna floods last year, has been renovated. During today's inspection with officials from the flood control department, we observed the installation of three new 32 HSP pumps and a 5-meter wide stone embankment,' said Bharadwaj in a post on X.

The breach in the Indraprastha water regulator occurred due to an exceptionally high current in the Yamuna, which reached its highest water level in 70 years on July 17, 2023, at 208.66 meters. With these new measures, officials are hopeful that the Yamuna water will not flood the city this year.
