Patil, 26, told his mother he was enjoying his trip with friends. Chaudhari, his maternal uncle, mentioned that Siddhant planned to return to San Jose, where he worked at Cadence Design Systems, in three days.

Patil's friends provided the Park rangers with his iPhone IMEI numbers to aid in the search, but all efforts remain unsuccessful. Indian leaders have sought government intervention, and the search operation continues.
