Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh on Saturday introduced two ambitious schemes designed to bolster tree plantation efforts and enhance the state's green cover in a bid to protect the environment.

The 'Van Mitra' scheme incentivizes tree planting and protection by offering Rs 30 per tree to the 'Van Mitra'. This call to action will be most active during July and August.

Similarly, the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Yojana' delegates the care of planted trees to 'Van Mitras', with monetary support of Rs 10 per tree per month in the first year and Rs 8 in the second year, starting this September.
