Tragedy Strikes Gujarat: Woman and Son Killed in House Collapse

A 35-year-old woman, Shilpa Parmar, and her 9-year-old son, Krish, were tragically killed after the wall of their kutcha house collapsed in Gujarat's Sabarkantha district. The incident occurred in the early hours due to the heavy rains that weakened the mud wall. The woman's husband, who was sleeping in an adjacent room, was unharmed. A case of accidental death has been registered, and further investigations are underway.

A 35-year-old woman, Shilpa Parmar, and her 9-year-old son, Krish, lost their lives when a wall of their kutcha house collapsed in Gujarat's Sabarkantha district on Thursday, according to the police.

The tragedy struck in the early hours at Rajpur village in Himmatnagar taluka. An inside wall made of mud, weakened by heavy rains, collapsed, stated inspector V R Chauhan from the Gambhoi police station.

Shilpa's husband, who was sleeping in an adjacent room, escaped unharmed. 'We have registered a case of accidental death and commenced further investigation,' said the official. The State Emergency Operations Centre reported Himmatnagar taluka receiving 99 mm of rainfall in the preceding 24 hours, while neighboring Talod taluka recorded 102 mm.
