Fatal Lightning Strikes Claim Lives in Jharkhand

In Jharkhand, lightning strikes killed seven people, including two children, and injured four others in separate incidents. Ranchi district reported four deaths, while Chatra saw three fatalities. The injured have been taken to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences for treatment.

At least seven people, including two children, lost their lives and four others were injured in separate incidents of lightning strikes across Jharkhand on Tuesday, according to officials.

Tragic incidents were reported in both Ranchi and Chatra districts. Four fatalities occurred in Ranchi, with three deaths in the Mandar block and one in the Chanho area. Mandar Circle Officer Rajendra Das confirmed that the deceased hailed from Cambo, Tilta, and Baski villages within Mandar, situated about 30 km from Ranchi.

Das reported that the lightning struck the victims while they were sowing paddy. In the Chatra district, a 55-year-old woman, a 12-year-old boy, and a six-year-old girl lost their lives. The injured individuals have been referred to Ranchi's Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences for advanced medical treatment.
