Tragic Floods in Kathmandu: Man Loses Life Amid Heavy Rainfall

A 45-year-old man died in Kathmandu due to heavy rainfall that caused severe flooding in parts of the city. Seventy people, including women and children, were rescued from inundated residential areas. The floods affected the Balkhu Fruits and Vegetable Market and surrounding areas. Around 700 cattle and chickens were also saved.

A 45-year-old man lost his life in Kathmandu as heavy rainfall since Tuesday night inundated parts of the Nepalese capital city. The relentless rain caused the Bishnumati and Bagmati rivers to flood, sweeping through residential areas and the Balkhu Fruits and Vegetable Market.

The local police reported that the man's body was found floating beneath a bridge in a slum area near Balkhu Vegetable Market on Wednesday morning. Alongside human casualties, the floods also trapped approximately 700 cattle and chickens, which were subsequently rescued.

Additional flooded regions included the outskirts of Kathmandu, such as Balkhu, Bafal, UN Park, Dhobikhola corridor, and Sundarighat. The incessant rainfall has left emergency services on high alert as they continue rescue and recovery efforts.
