In the coastal district of South 24 Parganas, rainfall was substantial, with Port Canning recording 92 mm in a nine-hour period until 5:30 PM.

Heavy to very heavy rain is anticipated to continue in Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, Bankura, Purba and Paschim Bardhaman, and Birbhum, while Kolkata, Howrah, Purba and Paschim Medinipur, Jhargram, and Nadia are likely to experience heavy showers.

Kolkata saw light to moderate rainfall, with 30 mm recorded in the same timeframe. The downpours caused traffic congestion, disrupting the commutes of residents and schoolchildren in the city and its surrounding areas.

Other notable areas of substantial rainfall include Diamond Harbour (85 mm), Magra (58 mm), Panagarh (46 mm), and Kalaikunda (41 mm), according to Met officials.
