Fear gripped Rajban village in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district as residents stayed awake all night after a devastating cloudburst left three dead and seven missing. The incident, which occurred Wednesday night, triggered flash floods that destroyed homes and caused significant infrastructural damage in the area.
Officials reported that the bodies of Chandi Devi (75), Chaitri Devi (90), and Baijru Ram (80) were recovered, while 25-year-old Ram Singh was rescued in serious condition. Local residents recounted their harrowing experiences of evacuating to higher ground for safety, with many homes completely swept away.
The state emergency operation center revealed that numerous cloudbursts hit areas like Nirmand, Sainj, Malana, and Shimla districts. Over 45 people remain missing, leaving behind a scene of chaos and grief as emergency services continue their search and rescue operations.
