Several areas reported ankle-deep water but fortunately, traffic remained largely unaffected. Since Friday afternoon, parts of the city received up to 7 cm of rainfall. The weather office anticipates that the rainfall will persist throughout the day, affecting districts like Howrah, Salt Lake, and Barrackpore.

Meanwhile, the Met Department has issued varied alerts, ranging from 'yellow' for moderate rain to 'red' for very heavy rain in Alipurduar. These warnings are in place as the depression gradually shifts towards Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, accompanied by an active monsoon trough over southern West Bengal.
