XLRI to Develop Zonal Master Plan for Eco-Sensitive Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary

XLRI-Xavier School of Management is set to create a zonal master plan for the eco-sensitive zone of Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary in Jharkhand. The plan will aim to balance ecological security and socio-economic development. The initiative involves a highly inclusive stakeholder consultative process, utilizing surveys and advanced data analytics.

XLRI-Xavier School of Management will develop a zonal master plan for the eco-sensitive zone of Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary in Jharkhand. This initiative was formalized in an MoU signed by the Jharkhand government's Forest Department and XLRI.

The MoU was signed by Deputy Chief of Conservator and Field Director Saba Alam Ansari and Prof Raghu Ram Tata of XLRI, in the presence of Chief Conservator of Forest S R Natesh and XLRI Director Fr S George.

The project covers 522.98 square kilometers, affecting 136 villages. XLRI aims to balance ecological security with socio-economic aspirations through a consultative, consensus-building process, including advanced data analytics and remote sensing. The project cost is estimated at Rs 45 lakh.
