The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) on Monday successfully rescued 26 villagers trapped in the floodwaters in Jharkhand's Garhwa district, officials confirmed.
The group, comprising six families, had been stranded near the Hariharpur police outpost since Sunday evening as the Sone river's water levels swelled due to incessant rain.
Garhwa Superintendent of Police, Deepak Kumar Pandey, stated that the rescue operation commenced at 7:30 am after receiving the information. Fortunately, all the villagers are safe, with no reported loss of life or property.
